Introduction

Welcome to Belly Dance 4 Bumps, I’m Stephanie Gawne Hamza, I’ve been a professional dancer and choreographer for over 15 years and have many years of experience teaching dance and fitness to classes of all ages and abilities. During this time I discovered belly dance and since then have been performing and teaching to classes of all ages.

I wish all expectant mothers a safe and positive pregnancy and birthing experience. My heart goes out to any one who has suffered in any way during this time and I hope that all women who practice belly dance find strength, acceptance, comfort and joy through this artform

Throughout my own pregnancy I continued to teach and perform as a belly dancer and became increasingly interested in the links between belly dance, pregnancy and birth.  There are proven physical and emotional benefits to be gained for pregnant women in our culture through the dance; it has been used as a preparation for pregnancy and birth in the Middle East for generations which inspired me to produce this DVD.
